Receptionist Responsibilities:
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and manage patient inquiries
- Verify patient information and update electronic medical records
- Collect and process patient payments, insurance information, and co-pays
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Coordinate with other healthcare providers, such as hospitals or specialists, to schedule appointments or referrals
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents
- Ensure the waiting area is clean and organized
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a medical office recommended
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems/computers
- Strong communication skills and ability to interact with patients in a professional manner
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations and commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality
- Familiarity with office equipment such as printers, scanners, and fax machines
