Harrison Gray Search has been retained by a leading Michigan-based insurance organization to identify an experienced Account Manager to serve educational clients across the Greater Detroit area.
This is a high-impact role focused on delivering exceptional service and retaining valued members in both Property & Casualty and Workers' Compensation programs. As the primary liaison between the organization and school districts, you’ll build strong relationships, respond to service requests, and deliver coverage solutions that support Michigan’s public schools.
The Account Manager will be primarily on the road throughout the Detroit area, visiting schools and meeting with administrators. Travel to the East Lansing headquarters is required only periodically for key meetings and team collaboration.

What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the go-to resource for school administrators on insurance-related matters.
- Conduct annual on-site visits and maintain proactive communication with members.
- Present proposals and renewals for liability, property, and workers’ comp coverages.
- Coordinate with internal teams (Claims, Risk Control, Underwriting) to meet member needs.
- Represent the organization at school events, conferences, and seminars.
What We’re Looking For:
- 5 years of experience in Risk Management or Insurance.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Willingness to obtain a Michigan P&C Agent License within 3 months of hire.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present to diverse audiences.
- Based near Greater Detroit and able to travel within the territory.
