- Associate’s degree withing the instructional area being taught or a combination of certifications, licenses, education and/or experience that yields the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Hold an active operators license and have completed one of the following:
- 750 hours in methods of teaching the student
- 250 hours in methods of teaching the student, if the applicant can verify two years of operator experience in a licensed beauty salon or dual shop.
- Three years experience in Cosemtology.
- Preferred: Teaching experience in a higher educational within the instructional area being taught.
