As the Assistant Director of Nursing, you’ll play a key role in ensuring clinical excellence and regulatory compliance while supporting and mentoring nursing staff. You’ll work closely with the Director of Nursing (DON) to oversee daily operations, improve care outcomes, and foster a positive, resident-centered culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Director of Nursing with daily clinical operations and act as designee when needed
- Assist with infection control, quality assurance, and performance improvement initiatives
- Ensure accurate nursing documentation and compliance with state and federal regulations
- Conduct rounds to assess resident care, staff performance, and satisfaction
- Provide leadership, education, and training to nursing staff
- Review prospective admissions and assist with care planning
- Support Department of Health survey readiness and compliance efforts
- Promote a positive, respectful, and team-oriented care environment
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Minimum 1 year of experience in long-term care or skilled nursing
- Prior experience as an ADON, Unit Manager, or Nurse Supervisor preferred
- Knowledge of infection control, care planning, and MDS
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of state and federal long-term care regulations
