HX5 is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio in support of the GEARS contract at NASA Glenn Research Center (GRC).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The selected Electrical Engineer will provide engineering support to NASA GRC in support of the Human Landing System (HLS) and power electronics projects. HLS is the mode of transportation that will take astronauts to the lunar surface as part of the Artemis program. Additionally, GRC is developing a number of aerospace power electronics projects. The work specifically required for this effort is to support development of the following activities: aerospace avionics systems, solar electric propulsion, and aerospace inverter systems.

Required Skills:

• Extensive knowledge of aerospace avionics systems, electrical systems, electrical hardware, engineering processes, Altium, IPC and IEEE standards, PCB grounding and PCB manufacturing requirements.
• Ability to read engineering drawings for footprint creation.

Other Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of high-speed communication protocols, power electronics, circuit simulation, and debugging techniques.

Education/Experience:

Electrical Engineering degree (preferably from an ABET accredited program) with the following years of experience:

• Bachelor's degree with 20 years of experience
• Master's degree with 15 years of experience

Other Position Requirements:

• Proof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.
• Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
