IIS Administrator

Job Description

Infosys is seeking an IIS Administrator to manage and support Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) environments, including hosting SharePoint web applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting IIS servers, with a strong understanding of web hosting, application pools, and enterprise-level deployment.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain IIS web servers in Windows Server environments.
• Manage application pools, virtual directories, bindings, and SSL certificates.
• Host and manage SharePoint web applications on IIS.
• Configure IIS settings to support SharePoint sites, including application pools and secure bindings.
• Troubleshoot IIS-level issues affecting SharePoint availability or performance.
• Coordinate with SharePoint administrators for deployments, updates, and issue resolution.
• Monitor server performance and availability using built-in and third-party tools.
• Apply patches, perform system maintenance, and maintain documentation.
• Support change management and participate in on-call rotations as needed
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution. Will also consider three years of progressive experience in the specialty in lieu of every year of education
• At least 4 years of IT experience
• Candidate must be located within commuting distance of Richardson, TX or Raleigh, NC, or be willing to relocate to the area. This position may require travel in the US
• At least 3 years in IIS administration.
• Strong knowledge of IIS 8.5/10 and Windows Server 2016/2019/2022.
• Experience managing SSL/TLS certificates and HTTPS configurations.
• Familiarity with PowerShell scripting for automation and administration.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience hosting and supporting SharePoint applications on IIS.
• Knowledge of load balancing, reverse proxy (ARR), and URL rewrite modules.
• Exposure to .NET application hosting and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with cloud-based IIS hosting (Azure, AWS).
• ITIL certification or experience in ITIL-based environments.
  
  

The job entails sitting as well as working at a computer for extended periods of time. Should be able to communicate by telephone, email or face to face. Travel may be required as per the job requirements.
