OUTREACH SPECIALIST
JOB DESCRIPTION
Under the direction of the Health Administrator, the Outreach Specialist is primarily responsible for building relationships with the community and conducting outreach activities to target the appropriate population. The Outreach Specialist is also responsible for preparing materials and reports for all outreach activities.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Typical responsibilities and duties of an Outreach Specialist include, but are not limited to:
- Preparation and execution of an Outreach plan.
- Seeks out and researches possible locations to conduct outreach activities.
- Promotes IBHS services by organizing outreach activities to target the desired population. Activities may include presentations at churches, community centers, job sites, government agencies etc., attendance at health fairs, and other locations as deemed necessary. May include visits to over 150 locations each week.
- Prepares all material for presentations. Create flyers and other advertising material to promote IBHS services.
- Organizes, prepares for, and promotes quarterly ‘Lunch With the Doctor’ event.
- Serves on the Golf Tournament Committee. Responsible for seeking out donors and golfers to participate in the tournament.
- Participates in training, coordination, and planning meetings.
- Maintains daily contact with supervising staff.
- Attends training to maintain and/or improve skills.
- Performs other duties as requested.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent and 12 units of college coursework in Management, Marketing, Public Health, or related field. Multilingual preferred. Related experience preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Must have physical ability to access places where the targeted population lives. Must have physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, have the ability to reach, possess fine manual dexterity, talking, hearing, and near and far visual acuity. Must have reliable transportation in order to attend community events and presentations. Must be able to communicate with people of varying socio-economic backgrounds. Must be able to multi-task in a sometimes stressful environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.01 - $25.76 per hour
