Overview
A Purchasing Expeditor is responsible for ensuring that goods, materials, and supplies are delivered on time to support operational and production needs. This role involves monitoring purchase orders, maintaining strong communication with vendors, and proactively identifying and resolving issues that could cause delays.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor open purchase orders to track status and ensure timely delivery of goods and materials.
- Coordinate closely with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams to confirm order details, shipment schedules, and delivery expectations.
- Proactively identify potential delays or issues in the supply chain and work with vendors to resolve them before they impact operations.
- Update internal stakeholders on order status, changes, or disruptions.
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, delivery confirmations, and vendor communications.
- Support the purchasing department by escalating concerns and recommending solutions to improve delivery reliability.
- Assist in expediting critical orders to meet production or project timelines.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills with both internal teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and respond quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through and organizational skills.
- Experience in purchasing, supply chain, procurement, or related fields is preferred.
- Familiarity with ERP or procurement software is a plus.
