Title: Product Line Manager- Technical Apparel


Job Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Product Line Manager to lead the development and management of our technical apparel product lines. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of technical apparel design, manufacturing, and market trends, coupled with exceptional strategic and project management skills. As a Product Line Manager, you will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from concept to launch, ensuring that our products meet the needs of our customers and contribute to the company's growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Product Line Strategy & Planning:Develop and execute comprehensive product line plans aligned with company objectives and market opportunities.
  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify trends and inform product development decisions.
  • Define target consumer profiles and develop product strategies to meet their specific needs.
  • Product Development & Management:Create detailed product briefs outlining product features, specifications, and target pricing.
  • Manage the entire product creation process, from concept development and prototyping to final production.
  • Collaborate with design, development, and sourcing teams to ensure timely and efficient product development.
  • Establish and manage product cost/retail pricing structures to maximize profitability.
  • Develop and maintain detailed product timelines and ensure adherence to critical milestones.
  • Product Lifecycle Management:Monitor product performance and identify opportunities for improvements or modifications.
  • Manage product phase-outs and end-of-life planning.
  • Analyze sales data and consumer feedback to inform future product development decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Consult with sales and marketing teams to develop and execute effective go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate on the development of marketing materials, including consumer website and catalogue content, advertising, and PR.
  • Present product line information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work with the sourcing and production teams to ensure product quality and delivery.
  • Market Analysis and Trend Forecasting:Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and consumer preferences in the technical apparel market.
  • Analyze competitor product offerings and pricing strategies.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis to inform product development decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel Design, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum [Number] years of experience in product line management, preferably in the technical apparel industry.
  • Proven track record of developing and managing successful product lines.
  • Strong understanding of technical apparel design, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency in product lifecycle management (PLM) software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of retail math, and experience in pricing strategies.
  • Experience working with overseas vendors.
