What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Designer position at iStaff?
The CAD Designer will support both new product development and tactical projects by creating and altering 3D solid models and associated engineering drawings while managing the Engineering Change and Release process.
Objectives:
- A successful CAD Designer will work in conjunction with various engineering groups to utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to create 2D or 3D mechanical models and drawings of products, components, and related mechanical systems. They will have the ability to develop detailed models and drawings from notes, sketches, existing drawings, design concepts, verbal instructions, and/or engineering specifications. The Designer will contribute to team objectives and outcomes.
Requirements
- Responsible for creation and documentation of 3D CAD models and related drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs) and other engineering documentation with minor supervision
- Ability to work with project engineers to develop and formulate design concepts.
- Coordinate drawing documentation in preparation for formal production releases.
- Responsible for processing change requests as a part of the Engineering Change and Release process to include the checking and auditing of other’s work.
Education/Experience: Minimum 2-year Associate degree or 10 years of relevant experience
