JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: JH Sports Retail Lead
Reports To: Assistant General Manager
Department: Retail
Classification: FT/Seasonal
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
General Purpose:
To oversee daily operations of JH Sports Retail shop.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee and assist in daily operations of department, ensuring procedures and policies are set up and executed to high established standards.
- Actively manage labor on sales floor ensuring all areas of store are properly staffed to daily business needs.
- Provide consistent exceptional customer service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of home location.
- Work with Assistant General Manager to help train retail staff.
- Operate cash register/computer to record all transactions
- Perform opening and closing duties of the store
- Consistently monitor the guest flow and work with staff to expedite service and sales while maintaining safety standards.
- Present yourself as a Mountain Resort ambassador by engaging guests and providing resort wide information.
- Help coordinate product transfers to other department outlets.
- Oversee daily morning restocks.

Job Qualifications:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITY
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong guest service skills.
- Overall knowledge of ski industry and guest service.
EDUCATIONAL OR FORMAL TRAINING
- High School degree or GED.
EXPERIENCE
- Rental/retail/guest services experience preferred.
Working Environment:
- This job operates primarily in a retail/rental shop setting. Most work is completed in an indoor environment. Occasional work in an outdoor environment may occur, which may cause exposure to extreme temperatures and varying weather.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time performing repetitive motions with hands to grasp, reach, push, and pull with extensive use of fingers to complete detailed work.
- Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and crouching is required to move inventory around the shop.
- Hearing, speaking, and reading ability to receive detailed information through oral and written communication at elevated speaking level in a loud, busy shop environment.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
- This job is a full time or part time seasonal role. It typically works during shop business hours, which can be from early in the morning to later in the evening. Shops are open 7 days per week and the schedule may require work on any day of the week. Schedules and hours may fluctuate depending on business needs.
