As a General Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind your store’s success, leading the team to deliver outstanding service and operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
As a General Manager, you will:
- Oversee all aspects of store operations, including staffing, training, scheduling, inventory, and financial performance
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team including assistant managers and shift leaders
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and quality standards
- Drive sales growth and operational efficiency
- Handle customer service issues with professionalism and care
- Manage budgeting, labor costs, and ordering
- Represent the store as a leader in the community
Training & Development
Please note that becoming a fully independent General Manager at Jersey Mike’s involves a comprehensive training process lasting 8 to 16 weeks, including:
- Learning every position in the store and managing during busy periods
- Training on back-of-house duties such as inventory, scheduling, and other managerial tasks
- Participating in Jersey Mike’s 3-phase management training program
- Completing an intensive week-long training in New Jersey as the final phase
- This phased approach ensures you are fully prepared and confident before running your store independently
Qualifications
- Proven leadership and management experience in a fast-paced retail or food service environment preferred
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lead a team, manage multiple priorities, and drive results
- Reliable transportation and flexible availability, including nights and weekends
