Job Title: Office Manager / Bookkeeper

Location: Salem, NH (100% Onsite)

Schedule: Full-Time | Hours: Monday - Friday, between 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM (start time flexible within this range)

Compensation: $25–$28/hour

Duration: Contract to hire

About Us

We are a small, family-run company based in Salem, NH, with around 30 employees. We take pride in fostering a supportive and down-to-earth work environment. We're currently looking for a dedicated Office Manager / Bookkeeper to join our team and support both our day-to-day accounting functions and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Perform bank reconciliations and handle billing
  • Understand and work with general ledger and balance sheets
  • Run and manage payroll via ADP
  • Oversee basic HR functions (including I-9s, new hire paperwork, and employee records)
  • Set up and manage health and disability insurance documentation
  • Monitor employee punch entries and ensure time tracking accuracy
  • Collaborate with leadership and assist with office management tasks

Qualifications

  • Strong working knowledge of ADP Payroll (required)
  • Sage experience is a plus, will consider candidates with QuickBooks or similar ERP System experience
  • Experience with basic HR processes and benefit administration
  • Solid accounting knowledge; understanding of ledgers, reconciliation, and payroll
  • Prior experience managing employee benefits (health, disability, retirement plans)
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on office setting
