Description
Water Safety Instructors are responsible for the planning, coordinating, and teaching parent-child lessons, preschool learn-to-swim lessons, as well as youth learn-to-swim lessons.
Job responsibilities
- Have a current knowledge and application of swimming and water safety skills
- Have a thorough knowledge and application of teaching swimming and water safety skills
- Maintain a professional attitude and relationship with parents
- Build relationships with children, and help them feel safe and comfortable in water
- Cover all materials required in a level
- Enforce all aquatic facility policies, rules, and regulations
- Commit to the mission of the Y, and represent the core values of Caring, Honesty, Respect & Responsibility
- This is a part-time position, approximately 5-10 hours per week
Qualifications
- 16 years of age
- American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification
- PREFERRED: American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid Certification
