Kress is looking for a full time Design Engineer to join our team in the development of specialized industrial equipment for the steel, construction, and mining industries. Our design engineers perform activities to complete approved design engineering request (DER) work.
Design Engineer Responsibilities:
Prepare design 3D-CAD models, sketches, and detailed drawings of assemblies and sub-assemblies
Participate in design reviews
Manage design costs and manufacturability
Provide timely, accurate engineering information within other business units
Offer input for updating department standards and procedures

Design Engineer Job Duties:
- Utilize existing designs, reference material, or standards to develop designs
- Complete appropriate confirming calculations to size components for fit and function
- Revise prior designs to bring them up to date with new guidelines and standards
Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years modeling experience (Solidworks, Creo, Pro-E, Unigraphics)
- Prior experience in construction, mining, or off-highway equipment
- Hydraulic hose and tube as well as electrical routing experience, a plus
