General Labor/Shipping Clerk

This position will complete general labor duties including building of materials for the shipment of products and various shipping and receiving duties.
Job duties and Responsibilities:
- Assembling crates for the shipment of completed products.
- Prepare shipments so that they are organized and ready to go, in a timely manner.
- Examine parts and other components for cleanliness and defects such as dents and cracks.
- Clean equipment and work area as required to maintain a safe and efficient operation.
- Perform vehicle maintenance, including care of forklifts.
- Process all incoming/outgoing UPS, Fed-Ex and freight carrier shipments.
- Be in general locality of the shipping areas during known delivery times. Assist in loading/unloading of L&S and freight trucks.
- Perform other activities as directed by supervisor.
Essential Qualifications:
- Familiar with driver DOT logs and auditing procedures.
- Ability to operate company trucks in varying weather conditions to safely transport goods or material.
- Possess basic computer knowledge and ability to use the computer efficiently.
- Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Team player and willing to work with minimal supervision.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekdays, and or weekends to meet customer service requirements.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Able to wear required PPE
- Able to pass pre-employment background check and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to operate a forklift to load equipment on shelving up to 15 feet high.
- Must be organized and possess time management skills and skills to adapt to priority changes.
- Must be able to work in a supportive team environment that is fast paced with a strong commitment to accountability.
- Must be able to follow and communicate both written and verbal information clearly in English with minimal supervision.
- Experience with rigging and lifting heavy loads, and operating overhead cranes.
Physical/Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, climbing, crawling, bending, stooping, crouching and climbing at times.
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move items up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance, vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Able to work at elevated heights
