Although this role does not include direct reports, it requires a seasoned accounting professional capable of managing full‑cycle accounting and collaborating closely with an external CPA firm at a high technical level.Position OverviewThe Accounting Manager will oversee day‑to‑day accounting operations and ensure accurate financial reporting for a growing organization. This role requires strong knowledge of manufacturing workflows, inventory costing, and seasonal revenue cycles.The ideal candidate can independently manage accounting functions, communicate effectively with auditors and CPA firms, and provide strategic financial insights to internal leadership.Key ResponsibilitiesThe Accounting Manager will:Oversee daily accounting operations in an agriculture or produce‑based environmentPerform full‑cycle GAAP accounting: A/R, A/P, payroll, bank deposits, and grower accountingManage the general ledger and perform detailed balance sheet reconciliationsLead monthly, quarterly, and year‑end close processesProcess payroll and maintain compliance with payroll tax reporting and regulationsPrepare, calculate, file, and pay quarterly state and federal taxesReconcile inventory across systems to ensure accurate tracking, costing, and produce movementManage cost accountingMonitor vendor and customer accounts, including collections for A/R and A/PAudit financial documents, procedures, and internal controls for accuracy and complianceDevelop and maintain budgets, taking into account seasonal cycles and fluctuationsPrepare weekly sales reports and KPIs using advanced Excel (pivot tables, modeling, etc.)Provide financial analysis to support pricing, margins, and operational decision‑makingCollaborate with external CPA firms, auditors, and tax professionals, ensuring accurate communication and documentationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field strongly preferredMinimum 5 years of accounting experience preferrably in an inventory‑driven industryStrong understanding of GAAP and financial reportingExperience with grower accounting, agricultural cost accounting, or inventory‑based operationsProficiency with QuickBooks, Bill.com or comparable software systemsAdvanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and financial modelingStrong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skillsHigh attention to detail and accuracy in financial reportingAbility to work independently, manage deadlines, and adapt to seasonal workload cyclesComfortable speaking with CPA firms and interpreting technical accounting languageAbout the OpportunityIf you are a detail‑oriented accounting professional with full cycle accounting experience and the ability to partner effectively with external CPA firms-Ledgent invites you to apply.
