Responsibilities:
- Provide appropriate safety and health, accident prevention, and investigation training
- Inspect work sites to assure safe and healthful conditions for workers
- Work with and educate employees regarding safe work practices (toolbox talks, presentations, etc.)
- Lead site crews in hazard identification, hazard mitigation, and safety practices
- Work effectively with management and cross functional teams
- Ability to run customer job site independently.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years of relevant field experience
- Minimum OSHA 30 Construction / GI
- Prior safety experience in rigging, machinery moving, equipment installation
- Strong working knowledge of Electrical Codes and best practices
- Experience working with union and non-union employees
- Working knowledge of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) & MIOSHA
- Ability to work any shift and weekends
- Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and adjust priorities as needed
- OEM safety experience preferred (Specifically GM)
- Familiar with standard safety practices (incident investigation, pre-task plans, risk prevention, etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong public speaker
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Strong computer skills)
Preferred Qualifications:
- OSHA 510/500 or 511/501 certification
- Certified Safety Professionals (CSP) a plus
- Health Safety Technician (CHST) a plus
- Safety Trained Supervisor (STS) a plus
- First Aid/AED/CPR certification
