What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounts Payable Specialist position at Leeds Professional Resources?
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with supervisor to improve A/P processes across all company locations.
- Serve as backup for the Global Accounts Payable Supervisor when needed.
- Verify invoice details, ensuring accuracy with purchase orders and receiving documents for authorized PO-related purchases.
- Communicate with vendors to resolve invoice discrepancies or adjustments as needed.
- Accurately code invoices to the correct general ledger and department codes, enabling seamless entry into the accounting system.
- Timely entry of invoices into the accounting software to meet established deadlines.
- Match claims to vendor invoices within the system as necessary.
- Organize and maintain a structured, up-to-date filing system for all paid invoices.
- Support payment processes, including checks and wires, to ensure prompt payment to vendors.
- Reconcile monthly vendor statements to identify any missing or outstanding invoices.
- Provide additional support to the Corporate Accounting team on various projects as assigned.
- Ensure accurate issuance of year-end 1099s in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s Degree in Accounting is preferred.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
Skills
- Strong ability to collaborate across departments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite, particularly Word and Excel.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High standard of confidentiality in handling work-related tasks.
