LHH is partnering with a government organization in San Diego, CA, to hire an Accountant for a 3 to 4 month contract opportunity. Position Overview: As an Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, assisting with month-end close processes, conducting general ledger reconciliations, and performing variance analysis. Additionally, this role will involve approximately 50% of your time dedicated to accounts receivable duties and assisting with accounts payable tasks.

Responsibilities:
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure accuracy of financial data.
- Assist with month-end close procedures, including journal entries and reconciliations.
- Conduct general ledger reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies and trends.
- Manage accounts receivable processes, including invoicing and collections.
- Assist with accounts payable tasks as needed, including invoice processing and vendor management.
- Support ad hoc financial projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, but relevant experience will be considered.
- Previous experience working with accounting ERP systems.
- Intermediate Excel skills, including the ability to create and manipulate spreadsheets.
- Ability to work onsite 100% of the time.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
