LHH is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Family Law Paralegal to support attorneys for a law firm in Lansing, MI. This role is ideal for someone with 2 years of experience in Family Law, who is organized, tech-savvy, and passionate about client service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage family law caseloads from intake through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, subpoenas, and affidavits
- Support attorneys through discovery and trial prep, including deposition summaries and exhibit prep
- File documents with state and federal courts via e-filing systems
- Maintain case deadlines and docketing systems
- Conduct legal research and prepare case memos
- Track billable time and assist with pre-bill reviews
- Collaborate with attorneys and firm staff to support client goals
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree required; ABA-approved paralegal program preferred
- Minimum 2 years of Family Law paralegal experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and legal tech platforms
- Strong legal writing, research, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and sensitive client matters
- Litigation experience is a plus
