We’re working with a well-established industrial client seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their growing team. This position plays a key role in the design, execution, and optimization of capital projects within a heavy manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, process, and project management teams on capital projects—from scope and estimation to conceptual design and execution.
- Serve as a technical subject matter expert in mechanical systems across various industrial operations.
- Oversee and review engineering deliverables from external consultants (drawings, specs, RFQs, vendor documents, etc.).
- Design mechanical systems and develop documentation such as specs, operating instructions, and bid packages.
- Troubleshoot equipment and systems, driving root cause analysis and long-term solutions.
- Ensure projects meet regulatory, safety, environmental, and reliability standards.
- Lead internal and external resources on projects of varying scale.
Ideal Background & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field with relevant experience).
- 8 years of hands-on project engineering experience in industrial environments such as mining, lime, cement, or heavy process industries.
- Familiarity with mechanical systems such as conveyors, crushers, kilns, fans, pumps, and dust collection equipment.
- Working knowledge of industry codes (e.g., NFPA, MSHA, OSHA, CEMA, AISC).
- Strong skills in AutoCAD, Inventor, Navisworks, and MS Office tools; SAP experience is a plus.
- Ability to write scopes, perform bid evaluations, and manage contractors.
- Proven success managing multiple projects with attention to safety, budget, and deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work across departments and with all levels of personnel.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%, including international assignments during critical project phases.
Salary : $120,000 - $150,000
