About Opportunity
Are you a seasoned project manager with a passion for process, structure, and delivering results? We are seeking a Senior Project Manager (PMO) for a dynamic project management office based in Waukegan, IL. This hybrid role offers three days in-office and two days remote each week, with flexibility in your schedule and working hours.
Position Overview
The Senior Project Manager (PMO) will lead the end-to-end process for the on-time, on-budget delivery of commercialization, program, and capital expenditure projects. You will be a critical link between diverse cross-functional teams, including Sales, R&D, Culinary, Operations, Marketing, QA, Engineering, and Supply Chain. Your mission: deliver high-quality products that meet market demands while optimizing efficiency, cost, and alignment with strategic goals.
- Travel: 5–10% – Occasional travel to locations around New Jersey and the Salt Lake area
- Compensation: $80,000–$130,000 base (depending on experience) 10% annual bonus based on company and individual performance

- Team Size: Join a PMO team with 2 other Project Managers and the Director
Role in a Nutshell
- Champion best-in-class project management principles to streamline and enhance processes across commercialization and manufacturing projects.
- On average, manage approximately 20 commercialization projects (customer-driven, new items, new packaging, new blends, etc.), 2–3 program projects (larger, more strategic initiatives for customers), and 3–5 capital expenditure projects (ranging from $100,000 to $3 million in size).
- Apply a disciplined project management approach to all stages: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring & Controlling, and Closing.
- Develop and own detailed project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, driving accountability across cross-functional teams.
- Lead communication among project teams and stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment at every phase.
- Support and improve governance and stage gate processes to elevate project success rates.
- Serve as a backfill program management lead as needed, providing a clear understanding of overall business objectives and program statuses.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 4–6 years of project management experience; experience in food or consumer goods manufacturing is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree required (preference for Project Management, Business Administration, Supply Chain); MBA and/or PMP certification preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing a blend of manufacturing/operations and commercialization projects.
- Proficiency in leading cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with governance models (stage-gate) and a solid understanding of manufacturing processes, product development, and supply chain operations.
- Excellent initiative, critical thinking, accountability, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Open to the implementation of new project management software solutions (under consideration).
