What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Accountant position at LHH?
LHH is partnering with a prestigious law firm located in Chicago searching for a Tax Accountant. The Tax Accountant will report to a Partner and will support the firm's tax practice by assisting in the research, preparation, and execution of complex tax strategies and compliance matters.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research on federal, state, and international tax issues
- Assist with tax planning for business transactions, mergers & acquisitions, and reorganizations
- Review and analyze tax returns, financial statements, and transactional documents
- Advise on, prepare, and/or review federal and state income tax compliance for individuals, partnerships, S corporations, non-profit entities, C corporations, and trusts.
- Review existing business structures to identify potential liability risks and tax leakage.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in accounting required
- CPA highly preferred
- 3 years of relevant experience requited
- Experience working within a family office, private client law firm, wealth management firm preferred.
- Strong analytical and client facing skills
Compensation & Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $125,000 plus bonus. Bonus is dependent upon company and personal performance.
