Summary
Performs environmental health practices and techniques through field and office work; Reviews/approves permits for food service operations and inspects facilities for compliance; Completes activity reports and records of inspections, investigations, and correspondence; Collects required environmental samples under prescribed methods; Reviews applications for construction of water wells, private sewage disposal systems, closed loop wells, and vector control, and conducts field inspections; Participates in making recommendations relative to the protection and disinfection of private water supplies; Investigates complaints relating to applicable programs; Participates in epidemiological surveys including, but not limited to: foodborne illness outbreaks, unhealthful conditions, and methods of control and correction.

Requirements
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health OR Minimum of bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in the physical and/or biological sciences and one (1) year full time experience in environmental health.
- Licensed Environmental Health Practitioner (LEHP) preferred (must submit a copy of license and proof of 20 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every license period).
