Manning Personnel Group, Inc., is working with a Boston based Biotech firm as they are actively seeking a Payroll & HR Specialist. This is an ideal role for candidates seeking to join a growing environment that promises to reshape the Life Sciences industry.
Payroll responsibilities:
- Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure proper documentation of employee changes including new hires, terminations, and pay rate adjustments.
- Prepare payroll reports for accounting and management as needed.
- Manage payroll taxes, deductions, and benefits contributions accurately and on time.
- Prepare and submit semi-monthly retirement plan contribution files.
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws as well as internal company policies.
- Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, tax forms, and earnings statements.
- Coordinate with Finance and HR teams to resolve discrepancies or issues related to payroll processing.
- Drive implementation of payroll system upgrade (ADP Workforce Now).
Human Resources responsibilities:
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparation of employment documentation and maintenance of personnel files.
- Support benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and employee inquiries.
- Assist with 401(k) plan administration.
- Support HRIS administration.
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records in compliance with company and legal requirements.
- Assist with HR reporting, audits, and compliance initiatives as needed.
- Support collection and maintenance of employee records (e.g., training records, acknowledgement of receipt records).
- Support and assist HR with planning employee activities and events.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years of payroll related experience
- Proficient in MS Office suite, specifically in Excel
- Solid knowledge of payroll and HRIS systems
- Broad knowledge of benefits and benefit administration
