Marissa Collections, one of the “top specialty stores in the country” is excited to launch a new Human Resources Manager position added to our senior leadership team. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work and collaborate directly with leadership to execute and implement human capital strategy and to take our current systems to new heights.  


About the opportunity 


As the Human Resources Manager, you will spearhead and execute new processes and procedures along with taking ownership of a newly developed HR Department. You will be the first and only contact to all associates and business leaders on all HR inquiries and projects. In this role, you will implement HR practices and processes that align with organizational initiatives across the company, mitigating risk and ensuring compliance. 

The Human Resources Manager acts as a great resource and champion for Marissa Collections, its executives, senior leadership and associates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 


  • Take a lead role in spearheading and executing the HR roadmap  
  • Execute strategies that deliver goals with a commitment to excellence  
  • Collaborate with leadership to execute and implement human capital strategy 
  • Foster a culture of engagement where all associates feel supported to do their best work 
  • Align human resources practices and processes with organizational initiatives across the company 
  • Be the trusted advisor and main point of contact and resource for the organization 


EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS: 


  • Retail and/or Luxury Retail Human Resources Manager experience (preferred) 
  • SHRM or HRCI Certification(s) i.e., PHR SHRM-CP (preferred) 
  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) 
  • Minimum 5 years in an HR role with 2 of those years in a leadership position (required) 
  • Knowledge of Florida State labor and employment laws and regulatory compliance issues (required) 


EXPERIENCE: 


  • Must possess a high-level of honesty, integrity, and ethics 
  • Ability to collect, compile, and analyze information and data 
  • Skilled operation of variety of computer software programs, including Microsoft 365 Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and have a basic understanding of HRIS systems 
  • Able to read, communicate verbally and/or in written form  
  • Experience developing, implementing, and reinforcing human capital processes and tools to improve efficiency, transparency, professional development and accountability 
  • Demonstrated success supporting vision, strategic planning, and data management skills 
  • Knowledge of benefits administration, payroll, employee relations, and applicable labor and employment laws

  • Executive communication skills: exceptionally strong communicator, equally adept at communications strategy and execution, with the ability to craft a full range of clear, high impact communications with top level company executives. Ability to communicate in an open and authentic manner in all situations in verbal and written form

  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 


ONBOARDING/OFFBOARDING & RETENTION: 


  • Lead, coach and support the onboarding process 
  • Coach and train managers to ensure new associates are provided the appropriate support during their onboarding experience 
  • Ensure the onboarding process is executed flawlessly to include offer letter, benefits, etc.  
  • Ensure offboarding process is processed in a timely manner to include execution of separation documents 
  • Identify any new trends and areas for improvement with internal information gained by the onboarding program: stay interviews, exit interviews, data used, etc. 
  • Identify and propose any solutions to address retention challenges in collaboration with senior leadership team 

 

EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT: 


  • Build a framework for engagement that drives business results  
  • Team Building Initiatives and Satisfaction initiatives  
  • Proactively build relationships at all locations that help support a positive culture and engaging environment 


HR EXPERTISE & COMPLIANCE: 


  • Handbook, policy and procedures update  
  • Job description updates as needed for the evolving business  
  • I-9 & E-Verify 
  • Participate in investigations of associates concerns, prepare summaries, and collaborate with senior leadership on recommendations 
  • Advise associates and management on the interpretation of human resources policies & procedures 


PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT: 


  • Working with management to insure these are performed in a timely, efficient and accurate manner 
  • Performance Check-In's (30,60,90 day) 
  • Mid-Year and Annual Reviews in collaboration with Executive and Leadership team 

 

TALENT ACQUISTION & MANAGMENT:


  • Lead the recruitment efforts of the organization, to include building relationships with local schools:  University & College partnerships 
  • Participate in the interview process with leadership team 
  • Collaborate with respective departments to identify and propose staffing levels based on data and analysis of growth trends, and workforce planning tools 


COMPLIANCE and STANDARDS 


  • Keep abreast of employment laws applicable to locations, including but not limited to state and local laws  
  • Ensure that all training programs comply with industry standards and legal requirements, particularly in areas of sexual harassment prevention and workplace safety 
  • Keep up with trends and best practices in training and development, incorporating relevant updates into the programs
