What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant I position at Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation?
Under the direction of the Finance Manager, the incumbent's responsibilities include assisting with all activities/processes related to accounting and related financial transactions, monthly closing process, and maintaining financial records. Will assist or create internal and external financial reporting, reconcile financial accounts, record fixed asset transactions, create tax schedules & reconciliations, and prepare a monthly Finance Exec. Mgt Report. Also ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial information provided to management.
Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Finance. One (1) year of experience in a financial/accounting environment preferred. Expertise in Information System use and associated applications is beneficial. The individual should possess the capability to interact with various internal and external individuals/organizations through strong oral and written communication skills.
The individual must be proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Excel and Word.
