What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant II position at Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation?
Under the supervision of the Finance Manager, the incumbent’s responsibilities include all activities/processes related to grant accounting and related financial transactions, monthly closing process, and maintaining financial records. Additional responsibilities include internal and external financial reporting, analysis and reconciliation of various financial accounts, preparation of fixed asset records, tax schedules & analyses, preparation of the monthly Finance Exec. Mgt Report, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information provided to management. Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Accounting or Finance; and a minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of related work experience in a financial environment. Proficiency in Excel, Word and on-line accounting systems required. Strong interpersonal skills, attention to details and accuracy, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
This is a hybrid work environment (i.e. a combination in office and work from home). Applicants must have internet access if and when necessary to work from home.
