Duties:
- Perform installation, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting of HVAC systems including:
- Gas furnaces
- Heat pumps
- Geothermal systems
- Air conditioners
- Air handling units
- Water heaters
- Safely handle various refrigerant gases, natural gas, and propane.
- Work with voltages up to 480 volts 3 phase safely and effectively.
- Proficient in brazing with high-temperature torches using propane, acetylene, and oxygen.
- Able to work safely with high-pressure nitrogen and refrigerants.
Physical Requirements:
- Comfortable working in confined spaces (attics, basements, closets, crawl spaces).
- Able to work at heights (rooftops, ceilings, ladders) and adapt to extreme temperatures.
- Physically capable of bending, crawling, stooping, stretching, and reaching.
- Able to work on uneven surfaces, from ladders, and safely lift up to 40 pounds.
License and Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- EPA certified CFC card for at least one category.
- Technician must obtain a State Apprentice HVACR License within 90 days of hire (specific to the state of employment).
- Technician expected to obtain a state Journeyman’s HVACR license within 2 years of hire date.
