MEMCO is seeking a Heavy Civil Foreman to work with an established general contractor in Atlanta.
The Heavy Civil Foreman will be responsible for overseeing heavy civil projects including the construction of stormwater systems, site preparation, and grading. This role will oversee a crew while ensuring standards of safety, timeliness and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead heavy civil field crews
- Plan and coordinate daily operations
- Read and interpret project plans, layouts, and specifications
- Ensure work is performed in compliance with OSHA and company policies
- Coordinate with project managers and superintendents to meet project schedules and within budget
- Monitor job progress, productivity, and quality standards
- Track, record, and submit crew hours, daily activity logs, and job reports in a timely manner.
- Monitor and manage the safe use and routine maintenance of all grading and earthwork equipment.
Qualifications:
- MIN 3yrs of experience with civil grading and water/storm/sewer construction
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Strong knowledge of grading principles, underground utility and heavy equipment operation
- Proven experience as a leader in heavy civil construction
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and grading plans
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Commitment to job site safety
- OSHA 30 certification a plus
