Job Title: Cash Posting Specialist


Job Summary

The Cash Posting Specialist (CPS) will be responsible for incoming payments and adjustments.

Essential Job Functions

  • Responsible for processing all incoming payments
  • Transfer copay/coinsurance and deductible balances to secondary insurance or patient responsibility as appropriate
  • Post contractual adjustments to patient accounts as needed
  • Support Revenue Cycle Management with billing, collection, and month end activities
  • Keep supervisor abreast of issues and/ or discrepancies until a resolution has been established
  • Prepares statistical reports
  • Works on special projects as assigned.
  • Participates in department meetings and in-services as necessary

Job Requirements

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience in a high-volume data entry environment
  • Previous experience completing account transactions in a banking environment preferred
  • Experience in a long-term care setting preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

  • N/A

Abilities Required

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Working knowledge of Excel and Word
