Intensive Outpatient Program/Extended Day Treatment Clinician
Description of Position:
This is a split position with the Clinician devoting a portion of his/her time to the Intensive Outpatient Program and to the Extended Day Treatment Program. Clinician provides therapeutic services to children and families in both programs. He/she also works as a member of an interdisciplinary team in order to provide milieu based treatment and stabilization to children with psychiatric, social, emotional and behavioral issues.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree or higher from an accredited school of Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling or Psychology Program.
- Current Connecticut state license or license eligible.
- Experience working with children and families and crisis assessment/management skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Carries a clinical caseload of 7-9 clients/families between programs.
- Coordinates/Completes intake process and discharge.
- Provides crisis intervention/assessments and notifies Supervisor.
- Facilitates weekly individual, family and multi-family therapy and multiple group sessions on a daily basis. Completes appropriate documentation.
- Obtains and maintains insurance authorizations.
- Attends psychiatric evaluation and as able, medication management appointments with psychiatry team for clients on caseload.
- Participates in interdisciplinary meetings and rounds.
- Effectively collaborates with all providers, including school personnel and attends relevant meetings (i.e. PPT, 504) as available.
- Participates in all internal and external meetings as scheduled.
- Maintain all necessary electronic health records and scheduling requirements in accordance with agency requirements, Federal and State standards and insurance guidelines.
- Participates in after hours on-call (telephone consult only) rotation at a rate of approximately one time every 7-10 weeks.
- Assist in providing program coverage for the programs as needed.
- If applicable, provision of supervision to assigned Interns.
- Completes other duties as assigned.
Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the supervisor named in the letter of appointment, and is accountable to this supervisor for the performance of all professional activities at the Center. The Clinician is a member of the interdisciplinary team.
