Meals on Wheels is seeking Kitchen Techs!
This position will assist in all areas of the preparation and plating of food, cleaning kitchen/equipment and organizing kitchen/storage area. Will be oriented to all job duties of kitchen support and will rotate through different duties based on the kitchen needs and staffing.
Our Meals on Wheels serves older adults and homebound in Shawnee, Jefferson and Douglas counties. We deliver hot, nutritious meals daily which can assist people to remain independent in their homes.
Hours of work: Mon-Fri | 6am-3pm
Duties:
- Assist with meal preparation.
- Assist with plating meals for individual clients as directed by supervisor.
- Assist with filling cold and hot bags for distribution for each route based on the number of each type of meal/sack needed for that route.
- Assist with cleaning and organizing kitchen and/or storage areas.
- Assist with washing dishes.
- Assist with trash management and disposal.
- Responsible for sweeping and mopping of floors.
- Correctly places and stores clean equipment, dishes and utensils in assigned storage areas.
- Stocks serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas as directed.
Qualifications
Required: Ability to attend work on a consistent basis, which includes arriving timely and staying for the full shift per Midland Cares attendance policy. Ability to follow detailed instructions.
Preferred: One year in the food service field.
