What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tax Partner position at Mission Staffing?
A rapidly growing, privately held multi-family office that serves a select group of ultra-high-net-worth families across generations is looking to bring on TWO Tax Directors/Partners. They are in Stamford, CT and in the office 3x a week.
The two Tax Directors/Partners will lead the tax compliance and advisory function across our client base, working closely with senior advisors, investment professionals, attorneys, and family office executives. One Tax Director/Partner will focus on HNW Individual tax, while the other will focus on partnership tax.
Partnership
- Demonstrate deep knowledge of partnership tax structures, compliance for complex arrangements, tax-efficient income allocation, basis adjustments, and planning for partnership formations, mergers, and acquisitions.
- Provide clients with strategic insights on minimizing tax burdens and maximizing the benefits of partnership tax structures.
- Conduct proactive research and experimentation with new tax strategies, introducing forward-thinking solutions to the firm and clients.
- Serve as the lead advisor on intricate tax matters, guiding clients on tax implications tied to their strategic goals and recommending efficient approaches.
- Work alongside internal specialists to deliver holistic client solutions that balance risk management with tax benefits.
- Consult on transaction calculations, partner economics, tax distributions, and other events throughout the partnership lifecycle.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop associates and senior associates, fostering a high-performance team culture.
Individual
- Serve as the firm’s lead tax advisor to HNW and UHNW families, family offices, and private business owners
- Develop and implement tax strategies that align with clients’ long-term goals for wealth preservation, transfer, and philanthropy
- Oversee the preparation and review of complex individual, trust, partnership, and private foundation tax returns
- Advise on entity structuring, investment vehicles, estate and gift planning, and tax implications of liquidity events
- Coordinate with internal investment, legal, and estate planning teams to deliver integrated planning solutions
- Stay current on tax law developments and proactively identify planning opportunities for clients
- Contribute to firm leadership, including new client development, service innovation, and process optimization
Requirements:
10 Years of HNW Individual or Partnership Tax
Experience from a Public Accounting Firm or Family Office Required
CPA, EA, or JD/LLM Preferred
Salary : $200,000 - $350,000
