ob Title: Manager, Laboratory Services
Location: Janesville, WI
Schedule: Full-time | 80 hours per two weeks | Monday to Friday Day Shift | 24/7 accountability
Position Overview
A leading healthcare facility in Janesville, WI is seeking an experienced Manager of Laboratory Services to oversee daily operations of its hospital-based and ambulatory laboratory services. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly collaborative team and play a key role in ensuring high-quality diagnostic services across a growing network.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accrediting, and safety standards
- Manage staff competency, continuing education, and documentation
- Lead performance improvement initiatives and monitor key metrics
- Review, revise, and implement lab policies and safety procedures
- Assess and implement new technologies; coordinate vendor demos, validation, and financial reviews
- Administer proficiency testing and manage follow-ups on substandard results
- Investigate patient feedback and incident reports; initiate corrective actions as needed
- Oversee staffing needs, hiring, onboarding, and development of lab personnel
- Conduct performance reviews, manage job descriptions, and support career growth
- Maintain access controls (Epic/Beaker, keycard, etc.) for new hires
- Assist in capital planning, budget tracking, and financial analysis
- Promote efficient use of personnel, equipment, and systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field required
- 3–5 years of laboratory leadership experience required
- Multi-hospital experience preferred
- ASCP certification preferred
- Experience with Lean or Six Sigma process improvement methodologies is a plus
