What are the responsibilities and job description for the Application Developer position at Mondo?
About the Role:
We are seeking a hands-on, mid-level Application Developer to join our growing development team. This individual will work across the full software development lifecycle, collaborating with business partners during project kickoffs, contributing to technical decisions, and delivering reliable, scalable internal and customer-facing applications. Most applications are custom-built for internal use, with one externally facing financial mobile app.
What You’ll Do:
- Participate in project kickoff meetings to review and provide feedback on business requirements
- Work closely with business partners to shape application functionality and architecture
- Build and maintain the data layer and APIs, then move into frontend development
- Collaborate with QA to triage and resolve bugs
- Work with the DevOps team to support deployment and post-launch operations
- Create and maintain technical documentation post-launch
- Focus primarily on heads-down development with occasional collaboration points
Must-Have Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in full-stack application development
- Proficient in:
- React (frontend)
- .NET (backend)
- SQL & PostgreSQL (database development and management)
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
- Experience developing applications in the financial, insurance, or broker-dealer industry (preferred but not required)
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience working on or supporting mobile applications
- Familiarity with internal business systems or custom enterprise applications
- Exposure to cloud deployment environments and CI/CD pipelines
