Montecito Bank & Trust is seeking a full-time Investment Analyst I to join the team at our Wealth Management department. The Investment Analyst will deliver a World Class Experience by focusing on compliance, risk management, and investment operations; the role will also assist the portfolio manager team with the preparation, publication and distribution of Wealth client investment reporting and planning documents as well as prospect presentations. A strong candidate should exhibit strong organizational, critical thinking, time management, and communication skills.
Minimum Requirements, Activities & Responsibilities
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting or a closely related field required
- General knowledge of asset classes, investment vehicles, financial markets, and economic indicators required
- A minimum of one year of experience in investments, financial services, or banking experience preferred
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for running and analyzing monthly department compliance reports including cash balances, investment objectives, asset allocation, sector concentrations, etc.
- Support investment operations with tasks including: handling trade settlement issues, checking for any account overdrafts, adding new assets to the system and Approved Securities list, working with Technology to post bi-monthly market commentary to Bank website, etc.
- Assemble monthly Investment Policy Committee workbook using slides and data from multiple Portfolio Managers and Portfolio Specialists
- Take monthly minutes of the Investment Policy Committee meetings and distribute to the team
- General duties such as document imaging to CogniVision, sending documents via DocuSign, mailing letters to clients, and special projects
- Support multiple Portfolio Managers with client and prospect presentations and follow ups

- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to clients and colleagues
