Summary:
Mount Laurel Animal Hospital housekeeping staff are responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the hospital. This includes maintaining cleanliness of the restrooms, collecting trash, vacuuming/mopping floors, cleaning windows, etc. A dedicated, detail-oriented and self-motivated individual is essential for this position. It is important to note, housekeeping staff will not be hands on with animals.
The responsibilities vary with current needs of the hospital, the season of the year, and the individual abilities demonstrated by the employee. Housekeeping staff will keep the appearance of the hospital (inside and outside) immaculate. Housekeeping staff must remain professional and courteous to clients and co-workers while handling multiple tasks at once with many interruptions and distractions.
Housekeeping staff must be experts in hospital cleaning and hygiene and assist co-workers to carry out these duties daily. Must take cleaning tasks seriously to ensure the health and safety of the staff as well as the hospitalized or boarded animals.
Responsibilities:
• Perform expert in hospital cleaning and hygiene processes.
• Perform and assist others with daily tasks and other tasks as requested by other departments.
• Clean and stock restrooms
• Perform laundry duties – wash/dry/fold and stock.
• General stocking of durable Goods throughout the hospital
• Rug cleaning – roll up rugs and change out as appropriate.
• Vacuum floors
• Mop floors
• Interior window washing
• Clean and disinfect countertops and other work areas.
• Collect and taking out trash and recycling.
• Follow SOPs and complete checklists daily.
• Ability to work holidays, weekends, and evenings is required.
• Work safely and follow safety standards.
Physical Requirements: This job is physically active and requires frequent bending and standing for long periods of time as well as routine lifting. Must have physical strength, mobility, and stamina and must be able to lift up to 50lbs regularly. Ability to use a step stool or ladder.
Skills/Qualifications - Experience and Education:
• Candidates must be organized, possess strong interpersonal skills, have a high attention to detail, a desire to share knowledge, and excellent time management skills.
• 2 year of experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently.
• Appropriately perform cleaning tasks around patients and away from patients to ensure safety and proper care of all patients is allowed when patients are present, especially in lobby and hallways.
• High School Diploma or equivalent
