What We Are Looking For In An Admissions Coordinator
Our admissions coordinator is responsible for assisting customers via telephone, Internet, e-mail screens, etc. Processing all inquiries by telephone regarding program descriptions and potential admissions as well as making appropriate referrals out. Our admissions coordinators make an important contribution to customer satisfaction by providing a prompt, efficient and courteous service to callers.
Responsibilities Of An Admissions Coordinator
- Receive calls regarding potential clients
- Place outbound follow-up calls to potential clients and make referrals out if necessary.
- Answer questions about the organization and all programs Southern Live Oak Wellness offers.
- Takes phone calls of inquiry and effectively answers questions about the treatment program.
- Use questioning and listening skills that support effective telephone communication.
- Effectively deal with job stress, upset customers, and apply the elements of building positive rapport with different types of customers over the phone.
- Provides referrals for those individuals who are not eligible for the program.
- Responsible for maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry developments and involvement in networks.
- Makes contacts conscientiously, as necessary, to notify concerned individuals of patient's arrival.
- Document all call information according to standard operating procedures.
- Protects the confidentiality of patients and the privacy of staff.
- Uses computer to type correspondence, reports and other items as requested, ensuring that typing is accurate.
- Maintains assignment boards, bulletin boards, and other communication sources.
- Accepts and utilizes supervision.
- Demonstrates willingness to accept responsibility.
- Completes all tasks with concern for work quality.
Protect the privacy of all patient information in accordance with Southern Live Oak Wellness's privacy policies, procedures and practices, as required by federal and state law, and in accordance with general principle of professionalism as a health care provider. Failure to comply with Southern Live Oak Wellness's policies and procedures on patient privacy may result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
May access protected health information (PHI) and other patent information only to the extent that is necessary to complete your job duties. The incumbent may only share such information with those who have a need to know specific patient information you have in your possession to complete their job responsibilities related to treatment, payment or other Southern Live Oak Wellness operations.
Expected to report, without the threat of retaliation, any concerns regarding Southern Live Oak Wellness's policies and procedures on patient privacy and any observed practices in violation of the policy to their supervisor.
Performs other duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications For An Admissions Coordinator
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least 0-2 years of coordinating patient admissions preferred but not required
- CPI and CPR/FA training highly desired
