POSITION: Special Education Secretary - Schedule 107/22/2024
LOCATION: District Office
REPORTS TO: Director and Assistant Director of Special Education
WORK YEAR: 260 days, 37.5 work week
STARTING: ASAP
SALARY: $19.77 / hr , benefits under Clerical Contract
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School education is required. Associate’s degree or some college or related business experience preferred. Seeking a highly motivated self-starter who possesses a facility with numbers, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to maintain and analyze data and learn State and district Special Education software; be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Software; strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to handle a variety of tasks requiring resourcefulness and problem-solving skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality. The candidate should have ability to interact positively with parents; knowledge of the Special Education process desirable.
SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
Successful candidate processes and tracks contracts, invoices, pay requests, mileage reimbursements and other budget items; serves as the purchasing and receiving agent for the Special Education program; processes, monitors and tracks NEEP and tuition-in accounts. Maintains office files, answers incoming phone calls, provides general information to inquiries, reads and routes incoming and outgoing mail and performs other duties as required by the Office Manager, Director and Assistant Directors of Special Education. Works cooperatively with other Special Education secretarial staff and is cross-trained in other responsibilities and tasks. Provides receptionist coverage for the Central Office front desk on an occasional basis.
