What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Specialist , Lending position at Neighborhood Housing Services of New York City?
Position Summary:
The Full-Time Program Coordinator will support day-to-day operations of the Lending Department. This role focuses on guiding clients through the application process, ensuring documentation is complete and compliant, and coordinating with internal and external partners. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, people-focused, and passionate about helping individuals maintain and improve their properties through emergency and non-emergency repairs and improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
· Answer calls inquiring about the Lending Department’s loan programs.
· Initiate potential client intake and follow-up on intake received through the organization’s website.
· Assist the loan processor, underwriter, and closer with their respective responsibilities.
· Assist the director in tracking the department’s production for reporting purposes.
· Maintain clear and timely communication with clients, lending team members, attorneys.
· Process requests for lien satisfactions.
· Provide outreach to borrowers with loans in collection through phone calls and written correspondence.
· Ensure data entry and documentation tracking are current in client databases and reporting tools.
· Support outreach events, virtual or in-person workshops, and information sessions every month.
· Assist in the administrative pre-closing and closing activities.
· Provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of programs.
Qualifications
· Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred; or equivalent related work experience will be considered.
· 1–2 years of experience in real estate lending or real estate sales
· Strong communication and organizational skills.
· Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and data entry tools.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
