Job Title:
Educational Aide-(5 days a week), to be assigned as cafeteria aide in the middle school. The approximate hours for this position will be Monday – Friday 10:15 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (178 days worked plus 8 paid holidays). The salary minimum is $13.78 per hour.
Job Description:
The responsibilities of a school lunch monitor include monitoring students and their behavior during meals in the lunchroom and referring problems to the principal or designated teacher. Organizes students into orderly lines for purchasing of food, and ensures they are directed to their assigned tables. Help students develop and observe proper dining habits. Assists students with utensils when needed. Organizes students to orderly disposal of food waste and trays. Organizes student groups for orderly dismissal from the lunchroom. Circulates among the tables during the lunch period so as to be available to assist children who need help and to resolve minor problems that arise. Maintain a reasonable noise level in the cafeteria. Maintain a pleasant, safe, and efficient atmosphere in school.
Minimum Qualifications include but not limited to:
High school diploma or equivalent. Valid State of Ohio educational aide permit. A clear record as determined by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification and Investigation and/or the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Ability to walk continuously for all lunch periods and assist with food unpackaging. Able to move quickly to assist with minor disruptions, spills, or accidents. Demonstrated maturity and the ability to work with students and their families.
