JOB SUMMARY: Operate the casino telephone switchboard by answering, screening, forwarding calls, providing information and taking messages. Receive and route a variety of calls for general information including complaints, emergencies, security calls including potential threats. Provide guests all requested information about establishment, such as location, promotional happenings, or any other guest inquiries. Direct complaints or concerns to the proper Team Member/department for resolution. File and maintain records.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Knowledge of departmental Guest Service Standards.
- Knowledge of casino promotions.
- Operate switchboard equipment in order to answer incoming calls; determine intent of caller and make appropriate connection.
- Assist in maintaining and updating telephone directories and event schedules via computerized data base.
- Deliver excellent guest service—in person, on the phone, through correspondence.
- Working knowledge of Casino rules, policies, activities and/or promotions in order to assist with Guest inquiries.
- Prepare and maintain accurate, complete records and reports.
- Maintain an efficient filing system.
- Maintain an organized, efficient and safe work area.
- Respond to all guest email inquiries
- Collect, review and log all guest comment cards and direct to the appropriate departments, following up as needed.
- Back of house players club data entry, as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Required skills and knowledge:
- High School diploma or GED certificate.
- 1 year of experience in a phone system operator position.
- Basic math skills.
- Intermediate computer skills.
- Pass NRWC pre-employment testing.
- Ability to work all shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Ability to obtain a Class III Gaming License.
- Data entry experience
Preferred skills and knowledge:
- Bi-lingual
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, squat and lift up to 20 pounds.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for assigned shift.
- Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork.
- Ability to tolerate a noisy, smoke-filled environment.
