Position Overview
The Northeast Missouri Area Agency on Aging (NEMO AAA) is seeking a compassionate and organized Navigation Specialist to serve as a key point of contact for older adults, caregivers, and community partners. This position helps individuals navigate available services by providing information, coordinating referrals, and connecting people to resources across our 16-county service area.
The Navigation Specialist plays a vital role in ensuring individuals receive timely, accurate assistance and is often the first point of contact for those seeking help.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and route incoming calls and online referrals; document and track assistance provided in Agency databases
- Provide general information and resource guidance to older adults, caregivers, and community organizations
- Coordinate and transfer referrals to appropriate staff for follow-up services
- Assist with NEMO AAA Wellness Center membership applications and tracking
- Upload payment detail reports for contractor access
- Work with board members to obtain monthly in-kind and mileage reimbursement forms
- Enter service units into agency-specific databases and ensure data accuracy.
- Maintain and update the Agency’s community resource directory
- Support scheduling and coordination for Agency programs, including Medicare Open Enrollment and wellness activities
- Assist with surveys, reports, contractor communications, and basic administrative tasks
- Support general office operations, including filing, mail distribution, and office organization
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Administrative or office support experience preferred
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and required automobile insurance
- Limited local travel required
- Must successfully complete a Missouri Family Care Safety Registry background check
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and privacy regulations
