DYS is the juvenile corrections system for the state of Ohio. DYS is statutorily mandated to confine felony offenders, ages 10-21, who have been adjudicated and committed by one of Ohio's 88 county juvenile courts. During their stay with DYS, youth are engaged in programming that is designed to address their criminological and behavioral needs. DYS reaches thousands of youth in facilities and those on parole.

The Opportunity…

Duties

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Repair Worker for our Circleville Juvenile Correctional Facility. Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Serve as lead worker (e.g., provides work direction, training) over youth in our custody and care, or other assigned staff in performance of semi-skilled & skilled maintenance repair work;
• Perform semi-skilled & skilled carpentry repairs (e.g., doors, locks cabinets, chairs, desks, floors, walls, windows, stairways, partitions);
• Perform semi-skilled & skilled repair of plumbing equipment (e.g., water lines, sewer pipes, trap fittings, plumbing fixtures, pumps, regulators, valves, faucets, toilets, sinks, bathtubs, heating, air conditioning);
• Inspect buildings & equipment for needed repairs or replacements & performs systematic & routine preventive maintenance of assigned area.
