Responsibilities:
- Oversee the design, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of network firewall infrastructure to ensure robust perimeter security
- Manage and optimize firewall policies, rule sets, and configurations across enterprise environments
- Ensure high availability, scalability, and performance of network security systems
- Lead efforts to evaluate, deploy, and maintain VPN solutions and secure remote access technologies
- Monitor network traffic and security events using industry-standard tools to detect and respond to anomalies
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex network security and connectivity issues
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enforce security best practices and support secure infrastructure design
- Conduct regular reviews of firewall and network security configurations to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements
- Mentor and provide technical leadership to junior network and security engineers.
- Stay current with emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and technologies to enhance overall network defense posture
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 6 years of directly related work experience
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, firewall architecture, VPN technologies, and secure network design
- Experience with network monitoring, threat detection, and vulnerability management tools
- Relevant industry certifications preferred (e.g., CCNP, CISSP, PCNSE, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent)
- Healthcare experience is a plus
