Title: Lead Telecommunications Technician

Location: Richmond, VA – Onsite Mon- Fri

Duration: 12 months on W2 contract w/ high possibility for extension

Status: Must be a US Citizen to qualify

Overview:

Seeking an experienced Lead Technician to support an infrastructure project at a large military complex in Richmond, VA. The role involves working to survey and document extensive underground telecom infrastructure, including manholes filled with unknown bundles of fiber and cable. Technicians will log all equipment and cabling details to help map out the site’s network.

Duties:

• Manage daily assignments.
• Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to a project leader or manager.
• Installs, troubleshoots, repairs and maintains telecommunications equipment.
• Provides reports, completes requests for new service, and determines methodology for installing telephone service.
• Determines appropriateness of moderate equipment changes or modifications including call switches, test trunks and test links, and installs communication circuits.

Qualifications:

• Certifications: Possession of relevant telecommunications certifications from manufacturers and technical training facilities including Credentialing and the information and communications technology (ICT) certifications: BICSI level 1&2, BICSI OSP, BICSI Technician, and computer hardware A certification.
• May require an associate's degree or its equivalent and at least (7) years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of field’s concepts, practices, and procedures.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $45.00 per hour
