What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art & Nature Center Intern position at Peabody Essex Museum?
The ANC is looking for an intern who will work with education staff to implement a variety of interactive programs. Specific to our winter/spring internship, we are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about being part of our animal care team for our exhibition Bats!. Part of daily duties will include meal preparation and assisting in the cleaning of the bat habitat enclosure. Interns will receive proper training and will become well-versed in the content of this exciting exhibition.
The ANC encompasses regular drop-in art making activities, exhibition facilitation and maintenance, and opportunities for independent projects. Independent projects can include supporting exhibition evaluation, generating public programming ideas, and exploring future ANC exhibition topics. Ideal for students interested in museum education.
Qualifications: Enrolled undergraduate or graduate student; excellent written/oral communication skills, detail-oriented. A passion for working with children and families. Able to commit to 2 days per week, flexible within Thu-Mon, 9 am-5 pm parameters. Those with weekend availability will be given preference.
