The Team You Will Be Joining
- This state agency oversees a comprehensive all-hazard emergency management program for the State and assists local and state government agencies in planning and implementing their local emergency management programs. They have an extensive history of emergency management, most notably its involvement in the civil defense programs established during World War II; the Division continues to move forward with creative and efficient emergency management programming.
- Accurately enters and maintains data across various spreadsheets, databases, and multiple accounting systems.
- Assists with the reconciliation of grant/contract accounting records in accounting systems.
- Coordinates with section staff in classifying, coding, posting, and balancing financial accounting documents/records.
- Communicates regularly with Finance staff to ensure that accounting and auditing procedures and methods comply with departmental and State guidelines.
- Reconciles multiple accounting systems to validate expenditures and revenue accuracy.
- Supports the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and fiscal year-end financial reports.
- Assists in interpreting and applying policies, procedures, rules, and regulations to ensure compliance with federal and state objectives.
- May be designated to assist other staff and perform related work as assigned.
- Occasionally travel up to 10% of the time as needed.
- Minimum of two (2) years of related experience.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Strong data entry experience with skill in 10-Key.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Proficiency in basic data analysis.
- Experience using Excel Pivot Tables and V-Lookups (preferred).
- State of Texas agency experience (preferred).
- Knowledge of USAS accounting software (preferred).
- Knowledge of fiscal/budget oversight and grant reimbursement processes (preferred).
- Rate: $24.00/hr.
- Length of Engagement: July 2025 - Aug. 31st, 2025; potential for extension/full-time placement
- Days/Hours: Monday - Friday (Standard Business hours)
- Location: Austin, TX 78752 (Onsite)
